Design and Build

The unibody metal smartphone grabs our attention straightaway with the invisible antenna design. The sides of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe are round and curved backward for added comfort while holding the device. It feels really light with the matte finish on the rear not attracting many fingerprints. The Zenfone 3 deluxe features a 5.7-in Super AMOLED display with Full-HD resolution with a pixel count of 386ppi. The phone includes a Type-C USB port and a speaker grille on the bottom with the 3.5mm headphone jack available at the top. The rear of the smartphone includes a fingerprint sensor which works brilliantly and the phone is shipped with a Quick-charge 3.0 power adapter. The overall look of the phone is quite stylish.

Specification and Features

The deluxe is powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC from Qualcomm and is equipped with 6GB RAM with a generous 256GB storage space. Another smaller version of the deluxe includes 64GB storage with snapdragon 820. Rest of the Asus Zenfone 3 specifications remains the same. The smartphone includes all connectivity options such as Bluetooth 4.2, USB OTG, FM Radio, GPS, and NFC.

Software and UI

The Zenfone 3 Deluxe uses the ZenUI 3.0 skin applied on the top of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Some of the apps bundled with the device include Puffin, Amazon Kindle, Truecaller, and SimCity. Also, a number of apps such as PhotoCollage, ZenCircle are pre-installed on the device which cannot be removed.

Performance

The Zenfone 3 deluxe doesn’t lag despite the heavy skin. The performance of the device is very good due to a large storage capacity and the presence of 6GB RAM. You can easily scroll through the phone menu with experiencing any kind of stutter with a number of high-end games working very well on the device without any noticeable lag. The device is able to stand up on most of the tests against rival smartphones. It has an AnTuTu score of 155,041 whereas the 3DMark unlimited gave the device a score of 30,100. These scores and number all point to a very good showing by the device, which is well complimented while the actual usage of the phone.

Camera

What impresses us the most about this smartphone is the 23-MP rear shooter which is equipped with electronic stabilization and four-axis OIS. The laser autofocus feature of the camera allows you to lock the objects in your picture with complete ease. The quality of the image captured in the daylight is very good with no noticeable drop in the quality of image at night time. The inbuilt camera app includes a number of shooting modes such as Manual, Panorama and Super Resolution. Also, the front camera is able to capture high quality, detailed selfies. The camera can also record 4K quality videos at 30fps or at 1080p a 60 fps at stable framerate.

Battery

The Zenfone 3 deluxe is equipped with a 3000mAh battery. It is able to deliver up to a day’s usage. You can choose from any of the two power options from Normal Mode and the Performance Mode. The phone supports Quick Charge 3.0 feature. This means that you can easily charge your device from 0 to 65 percent in about 30 minutes of charging.

Price

The Asus Zenfone 3 price in India is Rs.62999 which puts it in the high-end smartphone market. The device has the largest storage capacity among all available smartphone which helps you a lot if you are a regular user of Netflix and Amazon Prime’s offline viewing. While the Asus Zenfone 3 price might feel slightly high, the number of features provided by the device is among the best-in-class.
