Lava A67 Review
The Lava A67 created quite a buzz in the Indian market as a very decent option to look upon while on the search for a budget smartphone. To help you in your choice, we provide you with our detailed review
Design & Build
The phone is purely built out of good quality plastic and the look and the build of the phone also don’t give it a rushed look. The mobile phone is fitted with a scratch resistant screen and houses the usual three android buttons on the screen itself. The phone is also fitted with the usual 3.5 mm audio jack at the top of the mobile phone with the power button and the volume keys on the right-hand side.
The back panel of the mobile phone houses the camera shooter and a led flash beside it for capturing good quality features. As with most budget smartphones, the back panel is easily detachable with a removable battery. The phone has slots for 2 SIMs and a space for micro SD card.
Display
The Lava A67 is home to a 5-inch IPS screen. Nowadays, 5-inch has turn out to be a norm for most smartphones across various price ranges. Besides, the screen has a WVGA resolution which translates to 480×800 pixels roughly and a rough pixel density of around about 196ppi.
Software & UI
The Lava A67 is Android 5.1 Lollipop based. Although the version of the Android is now outdated, the phone is not slated to receive any upgrade as of yet. The mobile phone comes with pre-installed basic apps which Google offers with the stock android.
Hardware
The Lava A67 is powered by the much more regular 1.2GHz quad-core processor which you will find in a lot of mobile phones in the price range. Although the device also includes 512MB RAM which is a little low than what you would be expecting. This leads to most heavy performing apps run gingerly making the phone lag a bit.
Camera
The mobile phone houses both, the primary and the secondary camera. The sharpshooter at the back is a 5MP camera with a Led Flash. It is also capable of video recording but its quality suffers when using the camera at low light conditions. The front facing camera is a much more regular 2MP camera which is neither too good but not too bad either. Besides, the camera has features such as auto-focus and auto-zoom but most other features are missing.
Performance
You will be disappointed with the performance of the phone if you are looking for a rough usage. But the phone acts decently well under normal conditions. The only problem the phone has is the lack of a large enough RAM, otherwise, the phone is good enough at its price.
Storage & Connectivity
The phone features inbuilt memory storage of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32GB with the help of a Micro SD Card. Besides, the mobile phone supports other connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPRS/EDGE and Micro-USB 2.0.
Battery & Pricing
The Lava A67 also includes a 2000mAh battery which is said to provide a battery life of around 17 hours which I doubt. Still, the mobile phone is decently priced at Rs. 4549 for the number of features it offers.
The Bottom Line
The Lava A67 has its own set of pros and cons but with a buying price of Rs 4549, it is quite decent for people who are looking for a budget smartphone. You will be disappointed because multitasking takes a toll on the phone’s performances but a regular usage won’t feel much difference will using the phone.
